Bike ride to the Peace Park

Date:
Sunday, 9 August 2026 to Sunday, 16 August 2026
Time:
10 am

Keen cyclists are encouraged to gather at the Meeting House ready to depart just after 10 am. We cycle down to the bike track by the New Town Station Nursery, and then ride all the way along the cycle path to the Peace Park, also called the International Peace Forest, which is is on the corner of Berriedale Rd and Chardonnay Drive. The cycle track goes right along side it. We will plant some trees at the Peace Park to remember Friends who are no longer with us, and perhaps a few extra plants to replace trees that have died. Bring your own drink and snacks.
We are happy to take unaccompanied children on the bike ride, but please let us know beforehand. Otherwise, accompanied children and other adults can just turn up on the day. It is also fine to meet us anywhere along the cycle track if that is your preference; but you might find it handy if you let us know beforehand so that we can call you as we are leaving the Meeting House, and you can work out when we are likely to reach the spot where you wish to join us. It is also fine to drive to the Peace Park. The address is Chardonnay Drive; you cannot miss it.
Perhaps some Friends might like to drive out after Meeting for Worship. After the planting and refreshments, we will make our back to the Meeting House or home etc.
Please contact Peter Jones or Sally McGushin if your would like further information.27–29 No
